heemer77 (3647), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 8, 2008 Tap at the brewpub. The body was deep gold with a white head. The aroma was bready with some bell peppers and perfume. The taste was spicy saaz with some bread and potatoes. A nice hops bite in the finish. SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 4, 2007 Rating 1078, on tap at the brewery. Listed on wall as "pilsner" and after speaking with the bartender he said that they once had a ’czech pilsner’ but eventually the ’czech’ was erased to make room for annother beer listed. Golden yellow, clear with no carbonation. Small, medium lasting white head that left good lacing. Nose is tart with sweetness of hops. Taste is light citrus with more malts and crisp hops. Nicely done with more kick that you would find in most pilsners. I actually suggested this to a friend who isnt a big fan of the hops thinking that it would be more subtle for him but even to my surprise it had more of a punch. Nicely done. jpm30 (1585), East Central, Georgia, USA Apr 6, 2007 Updated: Apr 13, 2007From the tap, served in a pint glass.
Poured a clear lager golden with a small foamy white that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Aromas of sweet pale malts, light citrus, lemony, and softly spicy and grassy.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dry, thin, smooth light bodied mouthfeel.
Tastes of dryish grainy crackers, the malts are a bit thin, a light lemony honey flavor, and a dry, bitter spicy, leafy finish that cleanse the palate.
Easy drinkability, pleasant enough, but with so many brewpub pilseners out there, I thought this was slightly above average at best, tasty, refreshing, just not first rate.
eboats (825), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 20, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Poured light golden with a white head. Aroma had some faint citrus hops. Other than that it was very non offensive because there was no real smell. Used enough malt to give it a slight malt taste when you drink it. Slight citrus flavor with a light body. sneagrams3 (1388), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Oct 16, 2006 Tasted 10/14 from the brew pub. Sample number 5. Pale golden and filtered. Ring of white head. Sweet bready nose. Corny, grainy, good pils! True example with the dry spicy Saaz finish.
