Commercial Description:
This Belgian beer is a dark amber ale. With a chocolate-roasted malt character, it has a fruity finish reminiscent of dates and raisins.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was deep brown and copper with a khaki head. The aroma was light roast with some bubblegum and bread crust. There was also some earthy green beans. The taste was roasted with caramel and iced tea. Some notes of light stone fruit. A tangy finish.

Draught at Square One brewpub. Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of assorted fruits, sweet malts, chocolate, caramel and alcohol. Flavors include fruit, nuts, raisons and light chocolate. Smooth consistency with a light dry finish. A solid ending to my sampler.

At brewpub. Bit metallic. "That’s just wrong,"my friends said. Not so much wrong as a bit off. Couldn’t finish the whole thing. Served in wrong glass.

Sampled at the Heritage Festival. Labeled under "Belgian Dubbel" from Augusta. Filtered and amber. Soapy off-white head. Sweet nose with notes of fruity raisins. Floral aromas. Medium bodied with a sticky bready flavor. Sticky and grainy. Off-dry cloying finish. I found it enjoyable.
