sneagrams3 (1367), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 30, 2006 On tap from the Brew Pub. Ruby amber hue. Clinging white head. Sweet, doughy yeasty nose. Sweet malt note. Also citrus undertones. Fruity esters. The dry, bitter hops dominate the flavor. Full and lingering bitter pine hops. Smooth and sweet for a second, then the bitter kicks in. Underlying caramel malt flavor. Fruity, with notes of apples and grapefruit. Still has a nice lacing head. Darker, almost pink head, fades into bone white. Sticky and resinous. Zesty and smooth. The bitter bite is cloying and lingering. But I really enjoied this one! Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Feb 28, 2006 tap at Square One Brewing-st louis-deep copper hue with a small sudsy white head. nice fresh hop notes-grapefruit, pineapple, some nice resinous notes which give props to SNCA. flavors are toasty malts with lots of resinous hops to balance. The hops bounce all over the palate but are always backed up by the nice malt base. very dry finish-toasty with a nice resinous finish on the tongue. body is pillowy and fluffy. light diacytl is detected as it warmed up a bit, which hindered this beer from being steller. pretty good.
