Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Feb 8, 2007 well well, square one goes bold on this one. I have been waiting for this one for a while. I had this around new years, when it was very fresh. it poured cloudy orange with a small soapy head. tropical fruits dominated the nose when cold. however, once the beer warmed a bit, that trademark square one sour yeast note came through, but was largely covered by the hops. flavors are more piney than expected with lots of green hop flavors with a lingering yeast twang. body is medium with a fair amount of oily feeling. Wish they would use some better yeast to get rid of that sourness. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA Feb 4, 2007 decent beer. moderate citrus and slightly pine aroma (not big enough for me). about the same in taste with some strong sweet cereal taste and a moderate bitter finish. SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 30, 2007 #1001, On tap at the Brewery. A fine style for my 1001st rating. Orange hazy with some good carbonation. Thin tan head that is long lasting. Nose is barely present. Taste is very strong hoppy with a good chewy hippy acidic head. There was something about this, I just cant figure out what it is but it is lacking. Handsome beer. Its that same kind of flavor that the rest of the beers have. Hmmm. xmarcnolanx (680), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA Jan 25, 2007 Not a bad DIPA. However, I thought that the malt flavor was a little odd and the hop aroma was lacking. Otherwise, it had a nice bittering, a slight aromatic taste of citrus and was very nice. sneagrams3 (1453), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 13, 2007 Draft from the brewpub. Hazy golden amber hue. Layer of off-white head. Spicy, soapy hop nose. Peppery and fruity aromas. Full bodied with a sugary malt flavor. Short lived malt character. The hops dominate this brew. Zesty and lively, bitter and dry hop profile. Citrus and resinous pine. Little grapefruit. Sticky with a long finish. Nice layering on the head. Sugary and bitter. Well done!
