nbutler11 (218), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 19, 2008 Pours a rich brown color from the bottle with a ruby tint and faint tan head that quickly dissapates. Smells and tastes primarily of frozen coffee with notes of hazlenut, oatmeal, and smoke. Relatively flat for a stout. SuperDave70 (822), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 18, 2008 Pours a clear dark brown with a foamy tan head that leaves minimal lacing. Good aroma of dark roasted malt and coffee, sweet chocolate and a bit of grain. Somewhat weaker flavors of the same, with a very light hop presence on the finish. Watery and over carbonated on the palate. Goes down a little too easy for an oatmeal stout, and not in a good way! cbkschubert (1611), Rattlesnake Country, Arizona, USA Aug 15, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear dark brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma is big roasted malt and light chocolate. Flavor is much of the same with some lingering sweet roastiness. Medium body. A nice stout. gws57 (995), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Salt Lake City, Utah. Opaque, dark brown piur with a thick tan head, nutty, a sweet coffee nose, good front end flavor of bitter coffee, bitter chocolate and maple oatmeal, but it has a weak finish. Must be the 3.2. afireinside96 (498), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2008 Big thanks to my friend Krista for picking me this up wen she was in Utah. Pours dark brown with a foamy tan head. Smells of cereal and coffee. Roasted coffee and bitter hops prevail in the flavor, just a tad of oatmeal character comes through. Mouthfeel is on the thin side and a tad too much carbonation for a stout. Good for being only 4% abv but I sure won’t be flying to Utah to get more of this.
