Hazy, brownish red pour with a thick tan head, rosy hoppiness and citrus in the nose, a nice hoppy character with some flowery and citrus hops late. Very good! Amber as advertised, with an attractive cream colored mousse with excellent lacing that looked like leopard spots.
I really enjoy the flowery aromas of cask ales, and this one didn’t dissapoint. A little pine and a tad sweet.
Mild roasted sweetness/caramel with a pleasant hop finish, for a low ABV Beer it had plenty of character which made it very easy to drink. This was the best draft Beer I had in Salt Lake City. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Poured on tap @ Squatter’s Brewpub in SLC. It has a deep copper body with lasting white head and cobweb lacing. The aroma has roasted caramelized malts, a bit of buttered bread along with spice and citrus orange smelling hops. The taste has dual competing notes of roasty to caramel maltiness and spicy to citrus hoppiness. Each time I begin to enjoy the rich maltiness a note hops wells up and joins in bringing citrusy to spicy goodness. A refreshing brew that attains a pleasing balance.
