Squatters Provo Girl Pilsner

Draft sample at Salt Lake airport pub. Poured clear amber color with a moderate fizzy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate grassy hop aroma. Medium body with lively carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew.

On tap at O’Shucks in Park City. It was a pilsner. It looked like a pilsner (yellow and fizzy), it tasted like a pilsner (light malt and grassy hops), and it was watery like a pilsner. Well-balanced but nothing to write home about.

Blonde-bronze with a decent head. Some hops in the aroma and also a subtle graininess. Cereal and malt flavors with tannic grainy sourness on the finish.

Clear golden with tiny white head. Sweet malty aroma with grainy notes. Malty flavour with fruity notes. Sweet finish.

Got this in a sampler pack of Utah beers. Straw color with a short lived white head. Hoppy, grassy aroma. Very clean tasting beer with a nice hop aftertaste. I reallly like Pilseners and this one was no exception.

Tap @ Eddie McStiff’s, Moab. Clear yellow color, short head. Skunky smell, ditto taste. Bad stuff.

(Bottle) Does not taste even remotely like a Pilsener, certainly not a German one, but is still pretty good. Fairly hoppy, and some richness to the malt. The hops are a little complex but they have a dominant aroma of caraway, which I find odd and not really blending well with the rest of the beer. Overall, though, a good beer, and I think better than many of the other reviewers give credit for.

I am not a fan of pilsners at all. Pours yellow with a small head. Maybe a little short on hoppiness.
