gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Salt Lake City, Utah. Clear, medium yellow pour with a bubbly white head, clean, slightly tart with some grape and a bit of citrusy hops, not bad and very sessionable. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jul 3, 2008 12oz bottle (4% ABV) with a pleasing image on the label pours up clear gold with bright white head. The aroma is grainy maltiness to some cereal and a bit of noble hops in the background. The taste has neutral sweetness and hop tartness hitting up front. By midway the grainy and malty and faintly cereal maltiness grows to balance out the hop bitterness. It dries out into the finish and thins out too. I get lingering bitterness and graininess into the finish. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jun 10, 2008 Thanks Sonnie, bottle: Pour is pale golden with a very thin dissipating white head. Aroma is light honey, grains, a bit grassy. Flavor is very crisp, lightly hopped, grassy, and even a tad salty. It was OK. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA May 21, 2008 A honeyed lager that did not quite have the hop character I had hoped for. This was a little too malt driven for a pilsner, but not a bad quaff. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light gold with white head and zero lacing. Nose is sweet corn and grass. Palate is sweet malts, honey and a light hop dry finish. Light mouth feel. Not horrible. kurtkosher (144), USA May 15, 2008 I drank this out of a 12oz undated bottle and was not impressed at all. very weak taste but goes down very easily EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA May 10, 2008 Updated: May 22, 2008Bottle thanks to douglass88. Sweet floral aroma with slight lemon grass, citrus, and a sharp tangy zing, slight funk and must (just a little stale tire air). Pale yellow pour with a staunch white head. Citric taste is very bready, and therefore rather chewy despite the lightish body. Dash of mineral water that’s fine in the drink but lingers somewhat off-puttingly. Very light bitterness, little malt and virtually no sweetness; quenching and very drinkable. Absolutely no alcohol evident. A spritzy, fun pils. DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Apr 7, 2008 12 oz. undated bottle, from January trade with <a href=http://ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=58936>Douglas88. And poured into a Sam Adams glass. I’m celebrating the 75th anniversary of the return of 3.2% beer with a 3.2 beer (by weight, the way Utah still regulates it). Despite the brown bottle, a slight bit of oxidation. But pours nice, with a slight gold pils color and a thin stream of bubbles supporting a thin lager head. Taste suggests it’s mostly-, maybe all-, grain, with slightly toasty Pils malts. Don’t know what they consider "highly hopped," but this ain’t quite it. But there is a nice peppery note of Bavarian hops, even a touch of Brit. A nice example of a style that needs little alteration to stay suited for a 3.2 state. And let’s appreciate their tip o’the bowler to the 3 Stooges with the pictures of panthers on either side of the word "Pilsner" on the label.
