Commercial Description:
Behind its magnificent ruby-red colour, St. Ambroise Raspberry Ale reveals its refreshing charm from the moment you encounter its bouquet and flavour. Made with fresh raspberries and choice sun-ripened hops, it gently engages your tastebuds in a delicious explosion of flavours. Its delicate fruit aromas marry perfectly with the pleasant hop character typical of all St-Ambroise ales. Brewed in Quebec, just once a year, it's a unique summertime treat.

pours a murky red/brown with an offwhite/slightly pink head. Creamy thin lacing. Nose of slightly sour and fermented raspberry with a whiff of woodland mushrooms and yeast. Initially quite acidic, and lessens quickly. Not as userfriendly as suspected. Not very sweet, more deep in malts, earth and more of that mushroom. It’s fairly good. I expected something bolder.

Pours a watery red with no head & some minimal lacing. Aroma is leafy raspberry, very thin and green. Tastes equally watery and thin, bitter and tea-like, more like it was made from the leaves of a raspberry plant than the actual berries themselves. Thin with passable carb. Weak and uninteresting.

A "pretty" beer but lacking a little in the substance category. Sweet raspberry flavor gets a little heady towards the bottom of the glass.

[bottle] Pours reddish brown color, with a short-lived pink head. Subtle fruit aroma. Tart, mildly acidic raspberry flavors mix with a somewhat weak malt background. Finish is very dry, with a touch of woodiness. Not really something I’d pick up again, even if it comes in a fancy box.

Bottled. Perhaps the dryest raspberry beer I’ve ever tasted, with a hint of hops in the finish. Nothing artificial here, but the distinct flavour of dark, seedy fruit -- it’s almost like you’re drinking the seeds. The proportions are a bit tentative and it smells a little funky, but the thin, smooth body combines nicely with the slightly tart fruitiness.

341ml bottle. Pours a nice deep, murky red with pink highlights, and a think, creamy pink head. The aroma is mostly rasberry, with some hops and a touch of alcohol. The taste is the same, with a malty finish and after-taste, and touch of sourness. Heavier mouth-feel, but nothing too heavy. Decent, but not spectacular. The aroma is a little annoying, but the taste makes up for it.

Dark red cloudy poor with a pinkish thin head, good lacing. Aromas of raspberries, yogourt, tart and cherries. Klightly acid perfectly balancerd mouthfeel. Perfect carbonation and a nice creamy feel. Fresh raspberry taste... Very enjoyable and quite refreshing!

Poured a murky ruby, brown. Aroma is redolent of raspberry liquer, maybe even that of the filled raspberry candies you find at Christmas. An odd mustiness is present that detracts. The flavor is almost devoid of any raspberry quality, but is not without merit. In fact, it is toasty with a bit of balancing acidity. Though it is only marginally better. Not my cup of tea.
