Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Definitely a dark pour, especially for a 5% beer. Nice generous mocha-colored head (ha... I swear I just read that in the beer’s description after writing this!) and great lacing, too. First impression of the nose was a hoppy and oatmealy nose. Expresso, too, and roast, as well as something almost fruity. Sweet. Nice complexity on the palate, with a finish that brings back some malty sweetness and that almost fruity thing. Very good. I think I can pretty confidently say it’s the most complex 5% beer I’ve ever had.

34.1 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a dense chocolate brown head. Heavy roasted mlt, light chocolate and dry oat aroma. Light smoked note too. Light mouthfeel yet with a light creamy texture. Flavour is dry malt with a solid roasted note and light smoked flavour on top. Mild roasted malt and chocolate blend into the finish with a biter hops and acidic note following. Impressive for a 5% brew.

Black in color with a thick brown head. The aromas are of chocolate, maple syrup laced oatmeal and anise. In the mouth it is medium-bodied and light on its feet with lots of carbonation. The flavors are similar to the nose and finishes tart with a slight dryness. I was hoping for more body and concentration of flavor.

Great beer. Just the right amount of sweetness. Pours jet black with a small amber head. Good lacing. Aroma is of cold coffee and grains with a semi sweet chocolate taste and strong coffee. Nice bitter finish.

Bottle @ Hopleaf. Poured a syrupy dark dark brown color, very thin head. Aroma of smokey licorish, molasses and burnt oats. tastes like the flavor, a bit carbonated and watery. Expected more from this beer. didn’t like the dry finish or the quality flavors used.

Bottle from robinvboyer, thanks man! Pours a almost total black with a thick brown head. The aroma is mostly chocolate and malt. The taste is also dominated by caramel and roasted malts with some chocolate and smoke. Pure goodness. Not much oatmeal, but a nice dark malt taste. Just great.

Bottle. Pours an oil like black with a quickly dissapating tan head. The aroma is sugary, smokey, and roasted oats. The taste is a bit smokey but overly sour.
