Poured into a pint glass jet black with a full finger of chocolate colored head that turns to a thick lace
Aromas of dark roasted malts, chocolate, Oatmeal, and some coffee
Medium mouth feel creamy and silky finish
Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, smoke, and coffee fill the mouth
A good oatmeal stout a great finish to the day wish it was a little thicker mouth feel though.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2008 341ml bottle from alexsdad06 - thanks, Brad! Nice roasty smell, just as I remember from an earlier sample. Big and bold, and a nice rich dark color too. The flavor, however, is very prominently oaky to me. Certainly the roast and the choco malts are in there, but there’s a noticeable tart/sweet strain in there that really recalls oak barreling (and yeah, I know there’s nothing that suggests this was actually done to the beer). Just a hair too thin for my blood as well. garthicus (1273), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

It has a very distinct coffee and chocolate aroma with undertones of smoke. Yes a very distinctive smokey-chocolate/espresso flavour with a sticky charred finish, very enjoyable, great recommendation from hogtownharry and will drink many times more (in fact, I have 5 more in the box!) | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Bottle from miketd - thanks! Really nice black pour with a tan head. Aroma is dominated by raw coffee and chocolate with some sourness. Flavor is chocolatey, sweet, but a tad harsh. This one isn’t bad, but it appears I’m in the minority in thinking this one is kind of mediocre. MJGG (403), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Robe noire opaque, mousse mocha qui disparaît rapidement. Goût et arrière-goût prononcés de café, chocolat, réglisse et houblon. Cette stout est très gouteuse malgré son pourcentage d’alcool modeste.
