Strong roasted malty nose. Chocolate, mild espresso, and slightly burnt malt flavors. Light bitter and nutty finish. Flavorful and solid....A winner!

poured from a 12oz. bottle into a glass mug (thanks to my buddy unitmonster from Montreal for the beer) A: pours a silky-looking, near jet black with an ample, frothy cream/tan head, beer leaves massive lacing all the way through. You know it’s going to be a good beer when you want to dive right in and take a bath in it! S: Smells like fresh-baked oatmeal cookies and roasted maple syrup. T/M: Whew! Just what I was hoping for from this beer...loads of ultra roasted bitterness that lingers forever and a day. Good baker’s chocolate flavorings mixed with dark cocoa and burnt coffee. Delicious. Classic oatmeal stout mouthfeel, good carbonation and a slick, oily finish. D: Provided you enjoy the ample bitterness, this is a beer that should always be on hand in one’s beer fridge. Great beer.

(Handluke at Ølbutikken, Thanx alot Jeppe) Fit every scorechart I can put on the style; Very black, beige head Has a toasty, malty, yet dry aroma. Smoot mouthfeel lots of mals, caramel, tamarind and cofe i the flavour. Dries out perfectly in the finish.

First off, I have to admit that this rating might be biased since I’m not really a fan of the stout family of beers... Gorgeous tan head of two fingers on a pitch black body and intricate lacing on the glass. Smoke, hops and coffee to the nose. Flavor is complex, bold and bitter. Coffee, chocolate, hops, malt barley, hickory and smooth vanilla finish. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth / rich. This is without a doubt excellent beer and is very well crafted, it’s too bold for it to every become a personal favorite and is pricy.

[bottle] Pours a very dark brown color, almost ruby when held up to the light. A bubbling tan head leaves plenty of lacing on the glass. Nice aroma of cocoa, chocolate malts and vanilla. Flavors are bittersweet malts, more coffee and chocolate and a good dose of hops. The most impressive aspect of this beer has to be the long finish, revealing more vanilla and mocha elements. Slick mouthfeel. Overall, really nice. This turned out to be best as it warmed up.

Bottle, pour a dark ink black with good "café au lait" head that stays until the end. Nose of chocolate, coffe and vanilla. Strong bitter taste of espresso and burnt caramel. A fruity sweetness comes in the end. délicieux

[118-20061126] 341mL. Hints of chocolate and nutty coffee in the aroma. Dark dark brown-black body with a long-lasting brown-red foamy head. Flavour is very rich bitter coffee, still the dark chocolate hazelnutty present with a little medicine. Full heavy and thick body with a bitter tongue feel. Nicely comes together.
