Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 9, 2004 A black beer with a chocolate brown head. The aroma is very lovely sweet with roasted coffee notes. The flavor is nicely roasted with notes of coffee, but the body is unfortunately thin. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 17, 2002 Dark brownish black. Nicely malty, big chocolate aroma, very soft and perfectly balanced. One of the many amazing stouts made in Montreal. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 5, 2005 (Bottle 34,1 cl) Clear, dark brown with an underlying warm, orange note and a light brown head. Roasted, vinous aroma. Malts are hard roasted, but you only get the slightest burned sensation. Quite mellow, lightly fruity with dry, coffeeish notes. Rather smooth and pleasant. 281105 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2002 Updated: Feb 22, 2003Black, with a big, dark brown head; potent roast aroma with slight alcohol and faint Ringwood yeast notes (all that black malt and they still can't kill it!); intense roastiness, very dry, hops in the back; has probably the biggest black malt note of any beer I know; bitter chocolate; big, fat, dry - absolutely decadent. yespr (6364), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 22, 2008 34.1 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a dense chocolate brown head. Heavy roasted mlt, light chocolate and dry oat aroma. Light smoked note too. Light mouthfeel yet with a light creamy texture. Flavour is dry malt with a solid roasted note and light smoked flavour on top. Mild roasted malt and chocolate blend into the finish with a biter hops and acidic note following. Impressive for a 5% brew.
