Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Deep black color with a thick brown head. Great roasted barley and spicy aroma. Deep and complex flavors of coacoa, roasted barley, spices with a nice bitter and sweet balance. Everlasting bitter finish. Medium body. Simply amazing.

[2nd Low Countries RateBeer meeting] Aroma of chocolate and coffee malts, butterscotch and some cookies. Opaque, black coloured with a lasting brownish head. Taste is sweet, roasted malty, some hops and a very pleasant coffeebitter finish. Medium body. Lovely brew!

Bottle thanks to Suttree. Thick pour, very large and thick, creamy brown head. Black body. Great, no, amazing lacing and very good retention. Very flowery aroma with milk chocolate, coffee, oatmeal, brown sugar, molassas, and pie crust. Smells like fresh cookies with some fresh mocha coffee. Taste is nice coffee, some chocolate and nuts, that refines over the every long (45 seconds or so) duration into hazelnuts. Good stuff. Creamy mouthfeel, but feels somewhat light boddied. Easy to drink, light carbonation.

Thanks to DougShoemaker for this one! Outstanding Stout, although I still like Sam Smith’s a little more. My only negative comment about this one is that the alcohol flavor was not hidden as well as it could have been (or do we call that ’bitterness’?). Roased aroma and nice coffee flavoring. Almost black with great lacing. I am going to try to hunt this one down again sometime.

half a year past it’ s due date. Bottle from ølbutikken enjoyed at home. pours somewhere between black and very dark brown, brown head that doesn’t seem entirely stable. strong aroma of coffeee, roasted malts, toffee, chocolate, faint banana milkshake. very very strong flavor, more than full bodied, starts out slightly sweet and chocolaty and ends superdry heavily roasted without becoming burnt. aftertaste very dominated by roasted malts and other roasted stuff. palate is real nice, thick brew, but strangely, somehow it feels a little watery too. Overall it is absolutely amazing that someone gets this much flavor out of a brew at only 5%. If i had to guess, i’d put the ABV at 10% and guess this was an imp.stout or something. for a 5% beer we’ve got unbeliveably intense flavor and aroma. and i though guinness was amazing for a "low alc", blah. this is the real stuff.

Chocolate coffee scent. Deep brown colour. Coffee and liquorice taste. Roasted maltiness, well balanced. Extremely Good.

Black body with a long-lasting medium tan head leaving great lacings. Creamy malted body delivers plenty of dark cake flavours. Not quite chocolate, just half-baked creamy dark cake dough. No roasted coffee beans flavours and very little in as far as bitter black chocolate goes. Everything about that beer is cake-ish. The malts are slightly caramelized (more than usual for a stout) and there’s also a little fruity sourness that reminds me of a fruit-cake. Full body and soft mouthfeel. Excellent although a tad overrated. One of the most popular, easiest to find and cheapest black beer in Quebec that also happens to be one of the best one. As attested by the multiple warrants issued against me, it’s not often that the general population and I agree on something.

Yes, this one's a winner. Thick, roasted, burnt malt flavor makes it very drinkable. Where can I get more?
