| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Pours a dark brown/black color, moderate brown head, long lasting lace. Aroma is roasty, plenty of chocolate, malt, coffee, and enough sweetness from the oatmeal. An excellent full, round body delivers the great balance of sweetness and roastiness. Caramel, oatmeal, roasted malt, cocoa all complimenting each other. Another damn fine beer that lives up to its reputation. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Wonderfully complex: moderately sweet w/ intense roasted malt flavours (coffee, chocolate). Dry, balanced hoppy finish. Fabulous beer. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA
