Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

bottle courtesty of masonher (this one at least)..... pours a spritzy dark brown almost black with brown hues at the edges. not really much of a head, but some does accumulate towards the edges..... nose made up of sour lactose and chocolate malt, just a bit of roast..... flavors remain consistent but it’s that sourness that puts me off. mouthfeel was also pretty thin. lacks the robust flavor that i was expecting..... jeremy, did you give me an off bottle? bastard!!

Sat on this for a special reason, none betterthen the birth of my second son, Alex. Poured dark brown with smooth and creamy light brown lingering head. Smelled like roasted coffee and lots of assorted fruits.I also smell the baby smell as my son sitts on my chest. Great Brew, finished wit a sour/bitter end that lasted.

Very dark opaque pour. Rich, chocolatey aroma with some oatmeal. Flavor is oats, dark chocolate, a bit of smoke, charcoal, and a light sourness. Some licorice too. Mouthfeel is full with good carbonation. Rich, chocolatey finish.

What the hell happened to my notes??? Not sure if I need them - was looking at the Daily Devotee and if it ain’t Joey_Capps. Both he, AND prior to that Presario sent me this. Think one of Joey’s might have broken as the dark and sticky remainders were in the box along with the hilarious note from our lovely USPS saying it was illegal to ship beer as they then repackaged it and sent it to me. THIS IS DAMN NEAR BOTTLED PERFECTION. Makes me eat every last dumbass word I ever (jokingly or not) muttered against the durn furners that reside above this blessed nation. There is something unfathomingly (is that a word?) simple about how this all just comes together with such ease as it rolls across the tongue. God, I can even taste it now and you know that’s the sign of a remarkable beer when it’s been months. It has everything that I would want and hope for in an oatmeal stout and stops immediately at poetry defined. thank you both, presario and Joe

Thanks to Walt for this one. Black in color holding a frothy brown head. Strong coffee and cocoa aroma with some unusual tropical fruit and hints of smoke and leather. Thinner in body than I would have guessed, though smooth on the palate. Quite acrid and a bit sour, finishing bitter. Moderate burnt and dusty cocoa flavors. This one seems over rated to me.

Nice black color with tan head. Roast coffee aroma. Hints of black chocolate, slightly sweet, definate coffee notes. Great with the chocolate porter cake at Smokeless Joe's in Toronto.

A great looking beer: dark brown bordering on black with a huge tan head. Nice chocolate malt and coffee aroma. Flavor has one heck of a hop bite to it, a great surprise for a stout. Thick, meaty texture. Definitely suggested. Thanks again, DougShoemaker!

The looks of this one are a dark brown body, small tannish, frothy head around the sides of the glass. Great amounts of malts, lactose sweetness and chocolate in the aroma. The flavor is nearly the same: full-bodied, full of cocoa and coffee and hearty roasted malts. Not as sweet as I expected it to be. Wet finish, but very smooth. Nearly a perfect stout. Heavy, but not syrupy. Perfectly blended flavors.
