Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Thanks to Walt for this one. Black in color holding a frothy brown head. Strong coffee and cocoa aroma with some unusual tropical fruit and hints of smoke and leather. Thinner in body than I would have guessed, though smooth on the palate. Quite acrid and a bit sour, finishing bitter. Moderate burnt and dusty cocoa flavors. This one seems over rated to me.

A great looking beer: dark brown bordering on black with a huge tan head. Nice chocolate malt and coffee aroma. Flavor has one heck of a hop bite to it, a great surprise for a stout. Thick, meaty texture. Definitely suggested. Thanks again, DougShoemaker!

Pours dark brown, with a light brown head. Aromas are coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and a touch of wine. Flavors are coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, and nuts. Body is medium. Thanks to MrManning for this bottle.

Very black with a creamy brown head. Smokey roasted malt aroma. Bittersweet/coffee flavor.

The looks of this one are a dark brown body, small tannish, frothy head around the sides of the glass. Great amounts of malts, lactose sweetness and chocolate in the aroma. The flavor is nearly the same: full-bodied, full of cocoa and coffee and hearty roasted malts. Not as sweet as I expected it to be. Wet finish, but very smooth. Nearly a perfect stout. Heavy, but not syrupy. Perfectly blended flavors.

Poured a nice black color with a nice light brown head. Aroma is is mainly of roasted malts and a little bit of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is a bit thin, bland and dry for my tastes.

Black body, huge brown head lasting very long, beautiful lacing; Incredibly pleasant nose to the sweet side, it could be deeper, lots of soft milk chocolate, Latin American coffee, cinnamon, some oatmeal behind that gives it a little dry character; Quite dry body, some bitterness and a little salty, thin texture, very little sweetness; Into a bit watery, very long, dry, bitter, quite 1-dimensional finish, with a lot of coffee and a very little oatmeal, but that is about it for aroma. The fill of body and nose doesn’t fit to well together. Thanks a lot to Radiomgb for bringing this one over (together with a lot of other Canadian wonders).

Bottle from homebrew mystery swap. Dark brown to opaque black with beautiful dark brown medium head. Aroma is really smoky, rauch-like with burnt chocolate malt, pretty dry, some vanilla, pretty nice though one-sided. Once again rausch flavor with burnt malt, some coffee, but still smoke dominated. Very thin body but somewhat creamy. Nice smooth body with nice flavor and aroma but still very one sided, though I can see why this beers stands up amongst the others.
