Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Might be an oatmeal stout, but not sweet. Anyway, nose is full of chocolate, coffee and waffles. Awesome. Looks dark and brooding. Taste is roasted and bitter. Good.

Dark biege or light chocolate coloured head on a very dark stout with good carbonation aroma coffee rich chocolate maltiness mild molasses flavour gritty and resinous stick to the palate for a start coffee strong mild chocolate sweet taste throughout the stout has a real pleasantness with the oatmeal bitter is strong upsets the balance a bit finish hop bitter weakens or takes away other flavours but still a good stout.

2008 Bottle - Pours dk brown with a quickly dissipating tan head...aroma is coffee malt, bitter grain...flavour is similar, chocolate, dry, thin and a bit watery, roasty with a bit of smoke, I typically like my stouts a bit thicker and with more alcohol...

A very flavorful, drinkable, session stout with a mild 5% ABV. I could definitely drink this stuff daily!!! Aroma of dark roasted malt, a bit of ash, bitter chocolate, and fresh Starbucks. Black...with only a hint of light finding its way around the edges. Dense eggshell/khaki head. Flavor is interesting...not over the top and quite complex with notes of honey, caramel, ash, and vanilla. THANKS SPARKY27!!!

Thanks to Ughsmash for this one. Pours out a dark black color with a nice fluffy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is complex with coffee, roasted malt and some dried fruit with some hops on the finish. Rich velvet mouthfeel. Solid beer

I think I bought an old six pack, because the sticker on top said that it won an award in 1994. But aside from that, and the slight stale watered down taste, it was still decent and easy drinking.

120z bottle via Ohiodad (thanks!). Pours a deep dark brown/almost black with ruby highlights and an average size bubbly tan head.Nose is similar to Flying Dog Imp Gonzo....vanilla, toffee, chocolate, some alcohol.Tastes like it smells with some oats, citrus hops, and a bittersweet chalky cocoa finish. Very tastey & easy drinking. I do not usually care that much for oatmeal in my stouts, but this one is really nice.

12 oz. bottle new to Cincinnati. Pours black with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, some coffee, and a smooth sweet oatmeal. The flavor is similar to the nose with the sweetness coming out a bit more and combining with the nice roasted malts and coffee. A little bitter chocolate in the finish. Medium bodied, creamy smooth mouthfeel. I’m glad someone brought this to Cincy.
