Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Midnight black color. Medium head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. A medium bodied sweet stout. Deeply roasted malts. Big dark malt flavors, chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a touch of wood. Extremely smooth. Creamy and slightly sweet. Very easy to drink, nice sipping beer. Complex yet subtle, Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This bottled brew from SlikWily poured a exquisitely fine large head (for a stout at least) of foamy fine to medium sized long lasting dark brown colored bubbles that left behind a be3autifl opaqu pitch black body with no visible carbonations and a good lace. The aroma us equally wonderful and full of dark malt, chocolate, mild coffee, mollasses, toffee, some roasted notes and probably many others. Wow! The mouthfeel is extremely smooth and refined. No bite at all. Delectible flavors of dark malt, chocolate, mild vinuous notes, mollasses, sweet malt, oatmeal and a little soda pop thrown in for good measure! An equisite stout. Thank you Kevin! Too bad I did not reveive this in time for #1000. it would have been an excellent choice. Thank You!

Bottle. Huge creamy brown head that mostly lasted. Pitch black colour. Very good lacing in glass. Aroma was grain, butter, hint of smoke, liquorish, roasted and light notes of chocolate and coffee. Amazing for a 5% with this kind of complexity in the taste. Medium bodied with a flat carbonation. Flavour was light to moderated sweet with god burned bitterness to balance this beer. Nice smooth and slightly burned bitterness in the finish. Impressive! It is not always about the alcohol, this is evident in this beer.

Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Black - light brown head. Aroma: Chokolate, coffee, roasted, hops. Taste: Burned, roasted, chokolate, coffee, nice but sharp hoppy. Light watery body. Ok smooth mouthfeeling. Bitter finish.

(Bottled, thanks oh6gdx!) Very dark brown with a firm and long-lasting, beige head. Very roasty, smoky, tarry and malty aroma with some lactic sourness and malt sweetness. Surprisingly earthy, quite smoky, tarry and lightly licoricey flavor with eucalyptus, and lots of roasted and some burned malt, dark chocolate, and a dry, ashy bitterness in the long finish. Medium-bodied, pretty silky-smooth palate with low to medium carbonation. An excellent, complex and throughly enjoyable stout - especially for the low ABV! This might even be better than Fuller’s London Porter...

Pitch black with fine lasting creamy brown head. Chocolate roast aroma. Nice! But the body was quite thin - I know the brew is only 5% but still a shame. Toffee & chocolate. Very pleasant!

Botttle. Blackcurrant, light lactic and espresso bitterness in the aroma. Very black, brown golden brown head. Fruity berrylike base, charcoal roasted coffee, dark roasted - at times it feels like someone has started a fire in you mouth. Dry bitter finish, the hops mostly become noticable when exhaling . Medium body, sparkly mouthfeel. Long dark chocolate and coffee aftertaste. Subtle and elegant brew.

Poured an opaque brown color with a nice tan head that left a good amount of lacing on the glass. Had an aroma of chocolate and coffee. It had a sweet dry taste of chocolate and oatmeal. Dry finish. Rather thin mouthfeel, I was expecting alittle more out of this brew after reading the reviews. Still I am glad to have tried it, thanks Rastacouere!
