Can’t seem to find it in Iowa anymore, heard rumours it wasn’t going to be imported into america anymore. Surely this can’t be true. Has anyone else heard these rumours? Black with a frothy brown head. Malty aroma with honey, caramel, chocolate, and a bit of coffee. Good balanced flavour, with a roasted, chocolate, and coffee taste. Great mouthfeel as well, soft, a bit creamy, with just enough carbonation. JPDIPSO (4904), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

This is a very fragrant beer with hints of rasins and plums as well as a winey or almost bordeaux like nose. Dried fruits and very roasted, espresso like, flavors abound. This is a beer that comes off, in some aspects, like a high quality imperial stout. I am greatful for being afforded the opportunity to sample this liquid gold. Light oats, roasted malt, smoky hops, and coffee, all before the first sip. Lightly sweet, dry, and perfectly balanced. Silky texture makes it so easy to drink, I was at the bottom of the glass before I knew it. A certain rival to Samuel Smith’s oatmeal stout. Strange Brew (156), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Medium to full bodied, with an extremely well balanced flavour. Smoky mocha chocolate characters, with touches of licorice. The flavour seems to go forever, very good indeed, especially for 5%, yum! Glorioius head and nice cascading when poured in a tall glass. Super persistant head that actually forms an eternal peak when you poke your finger in it. Creosotic, pruney roasted ale aroma with a little hazelnut and chemical. Superbly balanced. Tasty and smooth. Not too sweet, bitter or otherwise. Nutty graininess and mild cocoa on top of the porter flavoring. Well done, well done.
