Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

thanks to radiomgb for this bottle. outstanding looking pour, completely opaque dark brown body, with a thick creamy tan head that holds for a good 5 minutes. a very sweet coffee aroma hints at the the flavor that is to come. a slightly burnt coffee/expresso flavor is huge from the start, a little bit of sweetness also at the front end. the tail is just a tad bitter, but the very end of the flavor brings in a bit of chocolate. nothing negative in the aftertaste, and the mouthfeel is thick and chewy. from first sip to bottom of the bottle, this is an outstanding beer.

Regular fridge item 330ml. This one kicks you in the taste buds - lots of demanding dark malty flavor, notes of unsweetened cocoa and Sumatra coffee (elegant shaped flavour bitter not harsh). A bit light body, slight foamy head. A balancing sweetness as the glass warms. Intense dark hue stains your tonge! A nice way to go if it were my last drink before dying.

On tap at Bar Volo. Beautiful black body with a light brown, creamy head. Great aroma of chocolate and coffee, spices, moderate hops and a bit of roasted malt. The flavour, which is pretty much perfect, consists of coffee, chocolate and all the other stuff I mentioned that was in the aroma. The palate is very smooth and creamy. An excellent stout and one of the best in my opinion.

The best beer I have tasted in a while. Black with a tall brown head, generous lace. Burnt toast aroma, also some coffee, licorice, and an earthy quality. Massive roasted malt palate, molasses, coffee, bitter chocolate. Heavy creamy mouthfeel. Awesome!

bought from LS ... been wanting this for quite a bit ... very roasty and smooth, like silk my friend ... for an oatmeal is quite meaty ... a sticky sweet brew... pours a black of the blackest brown ... head is in the clouds.... it lives up to its high score ..one of the nicest oatmeals out there!!

341 ml bottle, 5% a/v Pours almost totally black, and opaque. Very dark brown rich looking head. Smells slighty fruited and of roasted malt. Tastes very much like coffee with chocolate hints. Damn, this is a good beer. A nice lingering aftertaste which is just right. Go out right now and get this beer. Or trade with me for it, because this is great.

341 ml bottle - pours deeeeeep brown, almost black, with a beautiful cinnamon head - looks like a glass of espresso. Aromas of coffee, tar, black liquorice, and some ripe dark fruits. Big body and hugely complex. Coffee dominates again, but have another sip you’ll get dark chocolate, plum, wine, darkly roasted malt, some nutty flavours and the thickness of the oats. The follow through is slightly bitter to balance the malts, and the finish lasts forever. A great, great stout. Updated: had last night on tap at Magpie; even better than the bottle - pours with a thick, creamy nitro head, all the same as above, but flavours are much more robust and there is slightly less carbonation.

Une odeur bien presente et chaleureuse. Un gout chocolate avec un soupcon de cafe bien noir et fort, une couleur sombre et mysterieuse. Une tres bonne stout pour deguster entre copains.
