Aroma of roasted malt, espresso. Mocha, dark chocolate, mollases, even some black currant detected in the taste. Nicely hopped. Bitter finish. Palate is smooth, carbonation well articulated, rather full-bodied. Fantastic. Bottle. sayravai (3733), Helsinki, Finland

Very roasty, smoky, tarry and malty aroma with some lactic sourness and malt sweetness. Surprisingly earthy, quite smoky, tarry and lightly licoricey flavor with eucalyptus, and lots of roasted and some burned malt, dark chocolate, and a dry, ashy bitterness in the long finish. Medium-bodied, pretty silky-smooth palate with low to medium carbonation. An excellent, complex and throughly enjoyable stout - especially for the low ABV! This might even be better than Fuller’s London Porter... kkearn (1002), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

A beautiful black, with a large, frothy, chocolate-tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is malty sweet, roasted, tangy, frutiy berries, coffee, chocolate. Mmm. Tastes roasted choco-coffee, fresh, lightly citrusy hops, malty, finishes deliciously bitter and a little sour-sweet. Feels pretty rich in the mouth, my only complaint in the palate-department is that sometimes it feels a bit too "sharp", but sip it, and let it settle in the glass a bit and it should be fine. Very good. PrimeMinister (138), Quebec, Canada

Every mouthful is filled with somptuous coffee and roast aromas. The alcohol makes this beer very warming and it ends with a deep and long lasting roast finish. Great Brew, finished wit a sour/bitter end that lasted. originalsin85 (4), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2004 It had an EXTREMELY large head. Black color and very muddy looking. Its taste was chocolate and coffee not my favourite things to mix, but overall good beer til the last drop. paco (204), Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

Dark, almost black, large mocha coloured head, little lacing left on glass. Roasted coffee, caramel, chocolate, and oatmeal highlite the flavours. Smooth drinking with a nice bite of bitterness. Highly recommended.
