Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Pours perfectly opaque black with a head like a chocolate milkshake. The aroma is big and bold with a slight lactic quality and a suggestion of tartness. The flavor is nicely roasty but balanced by the softer dark malts. Comes across like chocolate charcoal. Despite a slight harshness, the overall effect is a very soft beer. Oily on the tongue.

Opaque black with a frothy brown head. Aroma and flavor is a nice blend of chocolate, coffee, nuts, and roasted malts. A good stout, and new favorite.

What the hell happened to my notes??? Not sure if I need them - was looking at the Daily Devotee and if it ain’t Joey_Capps. Both he, AND prior to that Presario sent me this. Think one of Joey’s might have broken as the dark and sticky remainders were in the box along with the hilarious note from our lovely USPS saying it was illegal to ship beer as they then repackaged it and sent it to me. THIS IS DAMN NEAR BOTTLED PERFECTION. Makes me eat every last dumbass word I ever (jokingly or not) muttered against the durn furners that reside above this blessed nation. There is something unfathomingly (is that a word?) simple about how this all just comes together with such ease as it rolls across the tongue. God, I can even taste it now and you know that’s the sign of a remarkable beer when it’s been months. It has everything that I would want and hope for in an oatmeal stout and stops immediately at poetry defined. thank you both, presario and Joe

Tar-like pour with some dark red accents with a thin, but ever present mocha head, decent lacing. Bittersweet chocolate aroma, with some burnt roasted marshmallow accents. Flavor has some bittersweet chocolate notes with french roasted coffee on the back end. Has a very roasted, smoked back end with some hop bitterness filtering through. Simple, yet complex. Thanks to Aurelius fro bring this gem back from Canada.

Black with a tan, milky, lacey head. The lacework is great. Aromas are oaty,ROASTY,chocolate, coffee. Mouthfeel is oily, full.Body is big! Flavors in mouth are roasty, sweet, slightly burnt and delicious. Finish is long herbal and bittersweet. Get's much thicker as it sits, and seems even more balanced and tasty! Tastes a bit mushy/old but still has tons of flavor and body. In it's prime I bet this is just heavenly.

This is a great Stout very drinkable and not overbearing. Chocolate mocha, coffee, and toasted flavors. Finishes clean, smooth, and rich. Thanks Phil.
