Black as the night, little hazelnut brown layer. Brussels lace. Bitter coffee taste, chocolate with 90 % cocao beans taste. Kicks on the roof of the tongue. Suprisingly thin, not syrupy. Long lasting bitter finish. "This beer rocks" as user-ex would probably say. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Deep black colour with a big, creamy head the colour of chocolate milk that leaves nice lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and some whiskey notes in the background. Big and creamy in the mouth, absolutely luscious. Amazing array of flavours - coffee, malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon - all leading to a perfect touch of hops in the finish. A world class beer. Head is an incredible dark brown and huge. Great lacing follows. The aroma is full of oatmeal at first and then moves to coffee, chocolate and roasted nuts. Flavour is astonishing as it tastes like semi-sweet chocolate, rolled oats and coffee. The finish is chewy yet creamy with a fudge aftertaste that beckons you back for more. The best I've tried so far. Thanks Shorlin! gaseoushead (1), Toronto, Ontario, Canada does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 19, 2005 From the luxurious blackness of it colour to the richness of its aroma, you know you are getting a great Oatmel Stout even before you taste St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout. I have been hooked from my first sip; which proptly turned into my first guzzle. It was instantly clear to me that St. Ambroise was in truth ambrosia. CoolerKing (14), Burlington, Ontario, Canada

Excellent roastiness perfectly balances the subtly yet potent hops. Bittersweet chocolate and fantastic burnt coffee tastes that don’t over-power but blend in with the mellow feel of the beer make this a truly delightful drink
