Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Black as night, with a tan head. The promise of chocolate and burnt coffee made by the nose is delivered in the mouth. This is a fantastic beer. The only small criticism I would have is that it could have a bit more weight in the mouth. I wish this beer was more widely available in Canada.

(Handluke at Ølbutikken, Thanx alot Jeppe) Fit every scorechart I can put on the style; Very black, beige head Has a toasty, malty, yet dry aroma. Smoot mouthfeel lots of mals, caramel, tamarind and cofe i the flavour. Dries out perfectly in the finish.

This beer is black like feces in the dark. Thankfully, its taste is more pleasant. No "Boreale Noire" though. :/

12 oz bottle special thanks to Sasquach911. Dark Dark pour with a deep brown head that was pretty good sized. Faded shortly after the first sip. Aromas of Tootsie Roll Chocolate and Coffee. More Roastiness comes through after a few sniffs. Bitter flavor up front that makes me think of burnt malts. Some coffee in the finish. With an aftertaste of roastiness. Very good

Bottle (341ml). (Even better on nitro). Very dark, good thickish tan head, dark and earthy, sometimes almost burnt palate; aromas of chocolate, strong coffee, peat; the hops are there but humbled - way better than Guiness (especially the cheap Guiness we get in Canada) and for twelve bucks for a six at the beer store, a great deal. * re-rate Jan/08 - this is a wonderful beer, but I had it at 4.4 and that’s ... a wee bit too high.

Bottle. Pitch Black, with a light brown head. Smells and tastes of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Nice slightly syrupy texture, with light carbonation and relatively low abv make this an easy drinker. Delicious, will drink again.

Bottle, pour a dark ink black with good "café au lait" head that stays until the end. Nose of chocolate, coffe and vanilla. Strong bitter taste of espresso and burnt caramel. A fruity sweetness comes in the end. délicieux

Bottle. Huge creamy brown head that mostly lasted. Pitch black colour. Very good lacing in glass. Aroma was grain, butter, hint of smoke, liquorish, roasted and light notes of chocolate and coffee. Amazing for a 5% with this kind of complexity in the taste. Medium bodied with a flat carbonation. Flavour was light to moderated sweet with god burned bitterness to balance this beer. Nice smooth and slightly burned bitterness in the finish. Impressive! It is not always about the alcohol, this is evident in this beer.
