Pleasant to drink but personally I have had a better one at Kroghs. Kroghs makes a great oatmeal stout. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 24, 2005 Pours to a thick brown bubbly creamy head atop a black/dark brown body. Laces well. Aromas are chocolate, vanilla, molasses, oatmeal, and grassy hops. The flavor is a creamy dark chocolate, burnt coffee malts, oatmeal, and grassy hops. The palate is creamy, thick mouthfeel, and smooth. Good, but I’ve had better stouts. Firemoose15 (541), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of coffee and chocolate like a cold espresso sitting in cup. Poured out of its bottle it swirled the glass a nice black eddy before bubbling up its milk chocolate froth. Flavor reveals itself of a smoky dynamic of coffee and chocolate intermingle with decent amount of oatmeal . Palate was bodiful considering its lighter mouthfeel. Overall a very tasty stout. porterhouse (1158), Alna, Maine, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2007 (341 ml bottle (best before 4/30/09) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/nova-scotia/hal target=blank>Premier Wine and Spirits) Elegant and tasty...Pours very dark coffee brown with three fingers of sturdy mocha head. Aroma of espresso, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel very smooth but some light prickliness. Feels quite full but not quite chewy. Nicely formed rings of lacing. Flavor is rich espresso with hints of chocolate towards finish. Coffee flavor is strong but not overpowering. Somewhat bitter but the oatmeal and overall texture of the beer seem to dampen it. Quite damn drinkable.
