| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Pours jet-ink black into the glass, with a nice thick mocha-tan head that reduces to a cap, leaving sticky suds lacing. The nose is all about roasted bitter chocolate. Flavors of bitter chocolates, anise, roasted malt, licorice, cocoa, and some light, well-complementary bitters to finish the pull. The body is extremely smooth, with subtle carbonation that well suits. The mouthfeel is complex, yet goes down super easily. Superb stout from McAuslan!
