Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Re-Rate 06/06/02: Deep brown to black in color, large frothy chocolate head, great sheets of lace. Nose is toasted grains, coffee, chocolate, earhty and quite pleasant. Sweet at the front, full at the top, the finish is lightly carbonated, dry, nicely hopped and quite a good ’Stout’.

Smooth, a little bitter, did not sense any sweetness though. A nice stout.

aroma of rich chocolate, slightly oatmealy and some alc. Best looking thing i’ve seen in a while. Black with a chocolate ice cream scoop of a head with incredible staying power. absolutely delicous. oatmeal is very prevelant, I love it. Perfect 400th Beer!

While I prefer the rich body and creamy head that Samuel Smith’s OS offers, St. Ambroise is blissfully bitter on account of it’s more pronounced hoppiness.

Black as midnight. Thick chewy tan head that settles with a craters on the moon effect. A very nice nose of dark fruit, dark chocolate, and roasted notes. Flavor is dark chocolate with everything else secondary. A nice hop profile, coffee, and gobs of roasted notes. Figs, and plums. Finish was a bit thin. What a delightful stout!
