Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Great beer. Very roasty, smoky aroma. The flavour is malty and a little sweet. The smokiness translates to a smooth mellowing flavour. The beer is pitch black. You can hold this up in front of a light bulb and not see through it. Veeeeery dark and ohhhh so delicious. The beer pours a dark tan head that quickly disappears. Mid-heavy carbonation lends itself well to the earthy, malty taste. It gives the flavour a prickliness and lets it linger in your mouth. What can I say that hasn’t already been said. This beer wins awards for a reason. Highly recommended. Cheers!

One of my top few beers. Nice bitter coffee and hints of chocolate flavour. And lacking a better way to phrase it at this point, it is a very clean tasting beer. Dry might be the right word to use there.

Bottle. Pours a deep black, with a slight dark beige head. Smells of roasted coffee, with a hint of caramel malt. Incredible hit of coffee and chocolate malts, very complex flavour that hits you on so many levels. Very smooth tasting, and the taste hits you again, impeccable aftertaste. Just might the best beer I’ve ever had so far. The only complaint think of is it’s thin bodied, that’s it. Incredible.

Really dark with a nice chocolate aroma. Smooth and silky, chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. What else could you ask for. Damn I’m proud to be a Montrealer.
