Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Awesome stout. Opaque deep, dark brown/black color with a brown head. The aroma was a decadent mix of roasted coffee beans and chocolate. The flavor was more roasty and bitter with a pure chocolate aftertaste. Crisp feel...not as smooth as I would expect from an oatmeal stout, but refreshing. Great stout.

I guess it’s about time I re-rated this beer. absolute black with dark brown head. complex aroma of roasted coffee, raisins, figs, burnt sugar, roast, chcoclate, and oatmeal malt. silky smooth mouthfeel, full body. flavours are big but balanced, espresso, bitter chocolate, tart dried fruit and dark bread. finish perfectly balanced between roast and hop. classic.

Yummy chewy stout. Good roastiness and smooth. Silky mouth feel. Second best stout to have on tap in the province of quebec after Boréale Noir.

The looks of this one are a dark brown body, small tannish, frothy head around the sides of the glass. Great amounts of malts, lactose sweetness and chocolate in the aroma. The flavor is nearly the same: full-bodied, full of cocoa and coffee and hearty roasted malts. Not as sweet as I expected it to be. Wet finish, but very smooth. Nearly a perfect stout. Heavy, but not syrupy. Perfectly blended flavors.

This bottled brew from SlikWily poured a exquisitely fine large head (for a stout at least) of foamy fine to medium sized long lasting dark brown colored bubbles that left behind a be3autifl opaqu pitch black body with no visible carbonations and a good lace. The aroma us equally wonderful and full of dark malt, chocolate, mild coffee, mollasses, toffee, some roasted notes and probably many others. Wow! The mouthfeel is extremely smooth and refined. No bite at all. Delectible flavors of dark malt, chocolate, mild vinuous notes, mollasses, sweet malt, oatmeal and a little soda pop thrown in for good measure! An equisite stout. Thank you Kevin! Too bad I did not reveive this in time for #1000. it would have been an excellent choice. Thank You!

(bottle - 341 ml) Dark black pour that has a thick and lasting tan head. Very smooth looking and great lacing. Aroma is very rich and full. Lots of caramel, toffee, espresso, and some oatmeal creaminess. Taste is very creamy and sweet as well. Coffee and caramel at the beginning with a smooth and roasty middle and a finish that has a lot of caramel and coffee. Very rich and silky. One awesome beer. Thanks once again Dan.

I absolutely LOVE this beer...the taste is rich with chocolate, but without tasting like coffee like a lot of other stouts, and it actually tastes great cold. There seems to be no end to the layers of taste..you notice something new every time you drink one. The appearance, strangely, didn't strike me as anything special, but this is one of my top three beers (Aventinus Doppelbock and Traquair Jacobite Ale being the other two). I hunt this stuff down wherever I can find it, and thankfully, since I live in Canada, it's not hard to find.

Black with brown head. Rich oat malt aroma. Everything is balanced perfectly with coffee, chocolate, and oat flavor with rich roasty malts and a bit of bitterness that ties in nicely. I thorougly enjoyed this beer and it will help make up for the dissapointment of being 4 days late to try peche mortel on my trip to montreal.
