cold as hell outside, i can hear what sounds like a drunk yelling in the street, and i am a bit envious. the blood on my arm is flaking off from where some jack ass cut me at work tonight. my feet hurt & i have some burritos in the making as i crack this open. it took a while to pour this. such a large brown head that took a while to subside. i can smell dusty brownies in this. charred almost smokey coffee notes, a chocolate truffle flavor too. very thick, and very good. this is really helping make my rough day fade. if cananda would allow me over the border i’d drive(well once i get a car and my license back) for cases of this. the bitterness of the roast & the coffee notes keep this incredibly drinkable and makes it possible for the lush sweetness not to get old. a chocolate coffee finish that is just the right balance of dry/sweet.the coffee really dominates the nose as this warms more. i’m just smiling and thinking of coffee and brownies. a beautiful beer.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 25, 2006 Updated: Jun 5, 2007Poured into an English pint. Pours very a very silky and seductive opaque black with a long lasting brown head and nice lace. Aromas of cafe mocha, and, Whoppers malted candies. Well blended roasted and chocolate flavors take center stage, with a subtle hop character. I bit of sourness that doesn’t exactly offend, but can certainly be done with out. Velvet across the tongue. Very worthy of its position, yet under rated. Thanks a million to Saarlander for the hookup. ryananderson (74), Ontario, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 1, 2005 Aroma is malty, toasted grains, dark chocolate and some mild coffee. Looks amazing: black with a large frothy brown head and good lacing. Flavour is roasted and reminds me of chocolate milk. Well balanced: some sweetness and bitterness with moderate bitterness in the long finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Great stuff! jimlintott (13), Canada

Finishes a touch too bitter but still quite smooth and enjoyable. GirlyBeer (183), Biddeford, Maine, USA
