St. Ambroise Pale Ale

Bottle. Amber, off-white head. Fruity and hoppy nose - I couldn’t decide whether the hops were piney, grassy, floral or gooseberry-y. The nose is really quite restrained, but is complex and balanced. There’s a fair bit of malt sweetness with - again - nicely balanced and well-integrated hops. Slightly too sweet for my tastes. In a style where there are a lot of frank-bordering-on-direct beers, this is a diplomat.

Light amber color, white head with good retention. Medium-light bodied, flavor is of light citrus and floral hops. Excellent session beer.

Poured to a fluted fest glass at Brixie’s Holiday Beer Tasting in Brookfield, IL. The color was a deep, coppery amber with a modest, off white foam to the head, and light streaks of lacing. The nose was toasty, with hints of fruit sweetness and light caramel. The flavor exposed nice smoothness to the malt, continued moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and then some dryness to the finish. Good body an nicely sessionable!

Bottle. Copper colour, with a hoppy aroma. Hints of fruit and sweetness but light on the palete. Easy to drink yet complex flavours. Overall a well balanced beer with excellent flavours.

Dark copper in colour. Nice fluffy off-white head. Very good lacing. The smell is modestly hoppy, with a nice pine touch to it and loads of caramel maltiness. The flavour profile has some bitterness, graininess, and a bit of sweetness, with some citrus notes and biscuit-like maltiness. Light-to-medium bodied, crisp mouthfeel. A very solid performer overall. This is an excellent session ale.

341ml bottle. Poured with a large head. Excellent lacing all the way down the sides. For a Pale Ale the aroma was a little subdued, to the point where not much was evident. Nice bitter/hoppy taste but not as strong as i usually like. Over all this is a great beer that i usually buy when i need a beer on the deck after a run in the woods.

Bottle. Very good APA. Aroma is citrusy, and it has also grass and caramel. Long-lasting and bitter flavour. Oily in the palate, medium body. Amber colour, and a fizzy white head.

341ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Poured a clear copper colour with a thick creamy 1.25" head. The foam was long lasting, left a 1/8" cap and the lacing was pretty good. Overall it looked pretty damn good. Smells delicious. Aroma of bread, toasted cereals, herbs and hops. For the flavour the hops hit pretty quick. Also caramel and a hint of toasts and some mild tangy fruits are also present. I found the balance was just a tad off (not sweet enough maybe?) but it wasn’t bad. Good carbonation and smooth with dry finish. Even felt a bit heavy. I could drink a couple but not too many. Bière blonde? Not what I was expecting but still it was a good brew.
