Dec 31, 2007 The aroma is spicy & yeasty, like fresh cinnamon rolls and a hint of tart cherry. A bit raw in the flavor, spicy, fruity, and a touch hot from the alcohol. It finishes with a hot raw ginger and lingering spice, like black pepper.

Dec 26, 2007 From bottle. Brown bagged this one and guzzled it walking down Telegraph ave in Berkeley. Just kidding.. Drank it in a Chimay glass. Pours dark with a nice thick, lasting head. Aroma is dried fruit, alcohol with a hint of (noble hop) pepper. The roasted and kilned malts explode in your mouth with flavors of fresh baked whole grain rye bread rounded out with some great british hop punch. Very delicious. The alcohol adds excellent mouthfeel with a little bit of hotness, but it’s still so smooth... I get the feeling this will age really well. Awesome.

Dec 25, 2007 Sampled from a 750ml brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large brown head. The aroma is malty with notes of ripe fruit and brandy. The aroma was toasty malts, caramel,ripe fruits and a faint hint of chocolate. The finish is a bit dry and a hint of alcohol shows through.

Dec 16, 2007 750 Courtesy of my S.S. last year. Deep red pour with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of plum, booze, candied fruit, yeast and some spices. Flavors of dark fruits, candied fruits, a light woodiness, sweet malt and subtle spice. MEdium body with a big carbonation...sweet/delicately boozey with a dry fruity sweet finish. Delicious.

Dec 16, 2007 Pours a cloudy deep amber brown with a towering ecru head, foamy and everlasting generating thick lace for the entire glass. Caramelized bananas, molasses, sweet spices, brown bread, figs are all detectable. Sweet and heavy, warming smooth alcohol in the finish. Not a good deal different from the regular St. Bernardus 12, but I’d have to do a direct taste comparison as it has been a while.

Dec 13, 2007 750ml bottle. Pours a deep amber brown with a thick cream colored head. Aroma is of fruit (plum?) and slight alcohol. The body is full with soft carbonation and a medium/thick texture. It tastes of fruit, malt, and alcohol with bitterness at the end.
