head is very thick, like a root beer float, nose is a bit floral with bright citrus scents- orange and lime and a little bit of hops on the nose. Flavor is rich and reminds me of roasted nuts. The palate is thick and coats the mouth

all I have to say is that this must have been a skunky beer because I have rated the regular St. Bernardus my highest rating yet and this doesnt come close - really didnt have flavor - will have to re-rate.

Bottle, 11% at De Pintelier, Groningen. The aroma is yeasty when the beer is cold and gets more spicy as it warms. Dark brown colour, getting cloudy at the bottom. Small stable tan head. The flavour is quite malty and a little sweet. Not overly so, but good. High carbonation, but OK mouthfeel. The flavour is spicy with anis and cinnamon, not as complex as I had expected. Hint of bread in the finish. Good balance.

pours a purple/brown with a large tan head that grows in the glass. lots of lacing. aroma is mainly dark fruits, spices, licorice. flavor has notes of dark roasted malt, licorice, plastic, brown sugar, plum with hints of chocolate and caramel. it’s been too long since i had the regular abt 12 so i can’t really compare them but it’s a solid brew indeed. flavors really come out more as it warms.

Bought at the Cracked Kettle. Looking forward to cracking this one for awhile. Dark brown colour with head that just kept on pouring. Taste of plums, really spicy and sweet. Dark fruits. Warm and smooth finish. Improves as warms up.

[Odense-tasting at Scheffel. Bottle from the wolf.] Brown look and small fast off-white head. Notes of alcohol, brown sugar, mixed yeast, dryfruits and spices. A nice warming beer for winternights.

Bottle at Stone. Hazy brown with fizzy white head. Fruit, caramel, and berry aroma and taste with a silky palate and a semi-dry finish.

Cloudy dark brown hue, with a fluffy beige head, leaving laces, intense trappist yeast nose, with some toasted, caramelized malt and cookie dough notes, with some dark dried fruity accents of plums, dates, raisins and figs, with some nutmeg spiciness, some brown sugar, with a faint black cghocolatey aroma follows through on a full-bodied palate with a yeasty, toasted, caramelized malt character, with some chocolatey, cookie dough, fruity flavors of plums, dates, raisins and figs, with a spicy nutmeg accent, with a sweet brown sugar, mellow alcoholic mouthfeel, leading towards a malty, fruity, warmth, faint floral hop bitterness finish.
