compared to the usual abt12, its a bit calmer, not as bold in flavor or nose. still very solid in malt and balanced very well.

Poured a dark brown color with a good amount of off-white head. Strong aroma of dark fruits and malts. Very good quad.

thanks dra19, BillVanE, and jgd0608!. Same detectable aroma as the original. Winey/bitter scent with a little apple flavor. More on the palate in this one.

This beer poured a darm amber color and had a massive head with smells of nuts and berry fruits. As you drink it there was nice gramcracker flavor with hints of blackberry and rasberry. the after taste was very smooth on the palate and a nice carmel and toffee finish.

Pours a clear brown with a medium tan head that fades to a thick, spotty film. I was a bit dissapointed that it didn’t pour a massive head that clings to the glass. The aroma is sweet dark pitted fruits, jagery or candied sugar, earthy yeast, orange peel, roasted malt (toffee, chocolate) and floral hops. The flavour is sweet, fruity esters, caramel malt, raisin, mildly sour hops and spice. The drinkability of this quad is amazing. The palate is velevety and round and it isn’t a CO2 bomb like a lot of abbey beers. I could actually session this at 11%.

Bottle from Windy City Liquor. Very dark hazy brown color with a moderate dingy head. Sweet aroma of dark fruitiness. Quite sweet. Slightly spiced. Roasty dark fruit. Solid beer.

dark burgundy with a medium dense tan head. light spicy dark fruit aroma with cherries and orange peels. medium thick creamy body(slightly thinner than the normal abt 12). roasted malt flavor with floral hops, chocolate, spice, and a complex fruitiness. the beer leaves a toasty alcohol finish in the mouth. this beer is ofcourse well balanced and extremely powerful, but it is a little bit lighter in general than their normal abt 12. which i think makes it a little more drinkable and almost a session beer

Finally got to get to this brew. Awesome pour, dark amber with a thick tan head. Smell is sweet, with a hint of alcohol. Taste is also sweet, caramel, malt, and a nice slight alcohol burn at the end. Great brew, but not up to par with the regular Abt. 12.
