Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

Dark amber brown pour with a small dense head. Aroma is complex. Rich brown sugar, creamy malts, dark fruit, spice, yeast and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is sweet and rich. Dark fruit, dark chocolate, molasses, yeast and spice with alcohol. Nice.

Tap and bottle. Prefer tap. Aroma is faint but fantastic, taste and aftertaste are subtle yet complex. Look, this shit is inviting and incredible. It sucks you in.

Dark brown pour, with steady small white head. Spicy and citrus aroma, flavor of sugar malts and dry citrus fruit. Finish is very spicy and you can taste the alcohol.

Dark cloudy brown colour, with creamy lacing. Spicy, fruity aroma. Tastes of currants and syrup. Not my favorite beer, but i appreciate it for what it is, a nice brew.

33cl bottle. Pours dark amber with a big had that is short lived. A small veil stays on the surface. Nose is powerful, you can smell the dark dried fruits 1 foot away. Some spices also (cloves, cinnamon...). Quite sweet... this is really complex.. I keep smelling it before having the first sip. Taste is malty and a bit sweet at first sip. Then it gets fruity, quite dry, very spicy. Feels warm on the mouth. Some nuts and some alcohol. Quite drinkable considering the abv. Taste is very well equilibrated. Finish is very long and fruity. Some cherries.

very dark brown, huge beige thick head, very carbonated. smells of nuts, raisins, chocolate, ginger and pepper. tastes wonderful and goes down super easy for a 10% beer. spicy and sweet at the same time on the taste buds. cant decide on an actual taste, maybe fig newtons after all.

Murky brown beer, like homemade apple cider. Thin head that faded quickly. Nose is a complex Christmas spice cake. Ginger, nutmeg, and perhaps some unidentifiable berries too. Brown sugar. Palate is brown sugary sweet with some cinnamony alcohol heat. Fig newtons. Whole wheat toast. Earthy. Wow. Finish is tangy/sweet. I keep coming back to brown sugar.
