Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

Incredible! pours fairly dark with nice thick head. the aroma immediately kicks you in the nose with spice, alcohol, candi sugar, raisins, and about 5 other things. the taste is just as complex. definitely my go to night time beer.

Dark cider/brown color; Medium cream body; Aroma of malt, fruit, and spice; Flavor of sweet malt, fruit - notably apricot, some caramel and spice; Alcohol at the finish which does linger for a while; Nicely balanced and quite complex; An excellent brew - definitely worth a try.

You ever notice when you pour an exceptional ale how the fruit flies start honing in on your beer? Then when the beer is bad they don’t bother. I am new to Belgium beers but this makes me an instant fan. I love it but......I really want to mix it with a barley wine and see what I get. I want to make it a little more manly. Very very soft beer. With the sweetness and the subdued alcohol women will love this. I love the raisin presence.

A truly superb ale. Excellent head, very smooth, dark, malty with just a hint of fruit. Sweet alcohol taste is there on the finish but not off-putting.

Very enjoyable brew. Notes of brown sugar even out the bitterness at the end. Yeasty and fruity plums with spice. Must allow it to warm up some before drinking to get the full amount of pleasure.

Very dark, near black murky color. Aroma is of sweeter malts, yeast, citrus, and some spices. Taste is a little sweet. Flavors include malts, yeast, brown sugar, caramel, and little bit of alcohol in the back end. Has a sweet and bitter aftertaste. A pretty smooth brew for having a higher alcohol content.

Malty sweetness on the pour. perhaps a little caramel smell as well. beautiful dark dark brown pour with tons of frothy off white head. Very smooth mouthfeel. Small hints of alcohol on the palate but nothing too overpowering. delicious.

On tap at Fathers office. Poured a dark brown color with beautiful bubbly head. Taste of dry roasted fruits, yeasty, bready and malty. Aroma is sweet like raisins with hint of alcohol. Medium carbonation with smooth finish. Very very good.
