Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

Tatse out of a bottle from MmmcKay, thanks. Dark brown with light shining through the edges making them appear copper. Some small yeast remnants are visible in the bottom of the glass. Builds a very thick inch and half high tan head that sticks to the glass. Aroma is slight fruit, sweet malt and creamy vanilla. Taste is thick, sweet creaminess on the front of the tongue tapering to a nice roasted bitter toffee flavor. Awesome.

The Platonic form of a perfect beer. Other beers can be judged as "good" or "bad" by the extent to which they resemble this one. The flavours separate in your mouth, while the froth stirs up the sediment, creating the impression that tiny microscopic monks are growing the ingredients on your tongue.

I normally don’t care for the beligians. But this beer was very nice. It went down smooth and I wasn’t overwhelmed by the usual yeast flavor. Very good brew.

I could smell this as soon as the cork popped. Pours with a huge frothy head and a deep caramel color. I think I taste some dried cherry, but I’m loving this so much right now I can’t tell what I’m tasting. Felling the buzz before the bottle’s even empty.

Malty taste with a Belgium bite. A lot of caramel. Caramel color with huge tan head. Some citrus. Plenty of sediment. I like this one a lot. I find it better from the bottle than the pump, at least here in America.

750ml bottle purchased at Central Market in Mill Creek, WA. Pours a dark reddish brown with thick cream-colored head. Aroma: Tought to say, since I have a cold right now, but there seems to be a hint of dried fruit. Flavor: Sweet mait, dried fruit, and a hint of bananas.

3/4lt Bottle. Poured into a snifter style glass; motor oil colored, with a good sized beige colored head. Initial taste was very sweet and fruity which finished with a noticeable alcohol finish. Very little bitterness. I expected a thicker ale... seemed a little thin. Overall this is a great ale. One of, if not the best beer I’ve tried so far.
