It is probably the closest thing you can find to the famous Westvleteren Abt 12. Unlike Westvleteren, you do not have to go to the brewery to buy it. The dark fruits and raisins really blend well. You will NOT realize how strong this beer is until you drink a few of them and stand up. It packs a wallop! mspindler (328), Alta Loma, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Bottle thanks to DuffmanSW. I really dont know why everybody likes this so much. Dark cola color, yeast particles and a small beige head. Light bready aroma with some raisins and other old fruit. Taste is caramelized fruit and more raisins. Has this weird funky aftertaste that just is not good at all. I dont know about this, maybe it was a bad bottle. miketd (684), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 24, 2008 Wow. This is what champions are made of. Its like a cream soda beer. Almost no hops bitterness to it. Fruity smooth and sweet. Full bodied and beautiful molasses color surrounded by a color of foggy carmel.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2008 Bottle: Pours a deep brownish red with a light tan head. Smells like bread, wheat, and a hint of raisins. Tastes of a cpicy, malty, pure hops with raisins. I appreciate the complexity of this brew. Very unique. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2008 330ml bottle - Birthday gift from Anna and mirjukka
Blind tasting (alongside Westvleteren 12, Rochefort 8 and 10, and Chimay Blue)
Deep reddy brown, creamy beige head. Marzipan is the dominant component in the aroma, almond too, and some perfume which sweetens it. Walnut too. Soft carbonation, very velvetty palate. Maybe some alcohol showing. In the mouth, there is loads of almonds rising up retronasally, but less come through in the taste. Simple roasty graininess, and a touch of glue. With yeast, there is more roastiness, and without yeast there is more fruitiness and esters, which are beautifully heady. I think I prefer it with the yeast though, as the roast maltiness is well worth emphasising.
3.9 is good, but it came equal 4th out of the 5 (equal with Westy 12). tarheels86 (795), Washington DC, USA

Pours a hazy coca-cola brown with a small tan head that settles down to a nice film. Nose is rum raisin, milk chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, along with some earthy tones. Taste is complex with some cloves, cinnamon, milk chocolate, figs, raisins, molasses, and plums among other things. Fizzy and slightly creamy on the palate. Slight warming alcohol in the dry finish. The 10.5% is superbly hidden. Immiz182 (17), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
