Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

11 oz. bottle- pours dark brown with a nice thin head that congregates near the rim. Aroma is yeast and sugar, the flavor is a perfect Belgian Abbey, sweet and some kind of spice, delicious. Next up Delerium Noel.

This was great! Pour is with a thick tan head that lingers for a while. Aroma is fruity and flavor matches, masking the taste of 10.5% alcohol. Not terribly expensive either.

alcohol-y, yeast-y, pretty bitter and caramel-y. A bender in the making. It’s a bit heavy and alcohol-y for my tastes.

It poured a hazy brown-amber liquid with a small beige foam that left very little lacing. It had a smell of figs, wood and nuts. It had a semi-smooth mouthfeel, medium body and low bitternes. Tasted of red wine, figs, druid fruit and nuts. Also a very nice beer but the triple was better.

never been a fan of this style, but i tried this for dessert and was very impressed. big chocolatey and estery flavors and a delicious creamy texture. better on tap because i don’t like the heavy sediment in the bottled St Bernardus beers.

Poured from .33l bottle into a St. Bernardus chalice, shared with SamGamgee. Darker brown, a bit hazy, with medium tan head. Nose of sweet malt, bread, raisins. Taste was on the sweet side, just slightly bitter. Very smooth to the palate, medium bodied with an oily feel. Excellent beer!

750mL bottle, Heady pumpernickel bread aroma, almost bordering on ham notes (maybe I had too much for Christmas). Pours a gorgeous dark-hazelnut brown with lovely creamy tan head. A complex spicy, fruit flavour with a subtle saltiness. Nice creamy brew with a satisfyingly long finish. This did get my full attention more toward room temperature!
