Definite presence of cloves, cinnamon, apple, maybe prune, currant and cherry as well. A multitude of flavors boiled downed nicely to a well-balanced and easy to drink ale!
Soonah (531), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Dec 1, 2008 Dark chestnut and ruby pour. The head was almost tan. It was thick and rocky. Giving way slowly and producing nice lacing. The aroma was malt, toffee, nut raisin, chocolate, yeast and earth. The flavor was tart raisin, chocolate, malt and toffee. Some yeast too. Pleasant warming alcohol. Terrific mouthfeel. World Class. Poured this one into my Chimay goblet, and let it oxidize slightly to give off more complexity to the layers of flavor. Some nice ripe cherries, currants, plum, and a bit of spice hidden in there. The aroma is sweet and nutty and fruity
Pours a nice hazy brown with a nice tan head and slight lacing
The taste is smooth and creamy with a touch of fruit and nuts
Very nice the high ABV is masked very well
