Dec 5, 2008 Dark brown with a dense grey head. Nice christmas aroma of spice, caramel and dark fruits. The body is huge and the flavours are wonderfull sweet and spicy.

Dec 4, 2008 bottle, dark ruby brown color with strong foam head and lacing, nose is strong fruit and cocoa, flavor is a blend of dark fruit, chocolate, spices and wood, finish is nicely carbonated with minimal alcohol presence

Dec 4, 2008 On tap at Monks cafe, Philadephia in the company of Loz, Casey and Traci 15-11-08 Pours very dark brown with ruby glints. Soft in mouth, gentle bubbles, easy going spiciness and finishes drier than I expected. The alcohol was warming rather than harsh, nice dried fruits come through, lovely beer. Hard to write this beer up, in fact had to get Loz to do it as the back bar was so dark it was like being in the Bat Cave.

Dec 1, 2008 On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours a deep red with brownish hues. Aroma has a red wine smell, apple, christmas spice, some cherry. Taste is apple pie spiciness. Some lingering bitterness/allcohol nip. Dried fruits are evident. Very balanced & well done. Great holiday sipper

Pours a nice ruby/red, with tan head.
Aroma has plenty of the Belgian yeast bread, and malts.
Taste is very smooth and sweet. Notes of floral hops, and dark candi sugar.
Overall taste just covers the whole palate, with lingering dark fruits that make this beer a very enjoyable seasonal.
Can’t go wrong with this beer.

Nov 29, 2008 Intense nose of apples, a touch of musty spice, banana bread, cider, apple pie filling...pretty damn apple-like. Cloudy orange-tainted chestnut with lacey tan head. Malty and apple-like flavors, somewhat boozy yet effervescent...Yeasty backdrop gets somewhat thick and the malts stay adequately if not maybe just a small touch too sweet. I dig it but thought it was slightly too hot, slightly too sweet, and slightly too yeasty...

Nov 28, 2008 Tap at Capone’s. Pours out a dark/cloudy brown with a small lacing off white head. Aroma is of cherries, spice and some other sweet notes. Taste is complex with a nice balance of flavor. Fig, raisin, cherries and some other sweet notes mix together and finish off with a slightly bitter/alcoholic finish. Once again, well done.

Nov 28, 2008 Poured a muddy opaque brown color with a finger’s worth of off white head. Aroma was malt and dark fruit, maybe a little cherry? Flavor was more of the same. Very malty, and almost a touch of something sharp. Nice beer.
