normally a big fan of the st. bernardus stuff. fruity nose, creamy mouth feel (did i just say that?)... it’s not bad. definitely not my favorite of their stuff. raisin plum and the like... i wouldn’t say impressive necessarily... but okay.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Chestnut brown with a decent head. Super sugary sweet malty cloved aromas with a touch of the spiced Christmas spirit. Body was a tad viscous and the flavor itself was rather sweet, almost to the point of cloying. A bit of caramel, peppermint and cinnamon are there for indulging upon. A nice offering, yet a little too festive in the exuberant spice department and its lingering sweet finish. drinkble though Ryan82SM (252), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Reminds me a lot of pannepot. Pours a nice mahogany color with a medium to large sized foamy tope colored head that does not persist. Notes of nutmeg and cinnamon, with belgian candi sugar, dark brown sugar, banana, chocolate, and yeast. Very well balanced, with a nice medium to thick mouthfeel. Cleanses the palate well. Nice beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Great purply-black pour with moderate off-white head that tends to linger briefly then fades into a light lacing. Very rich roasty aroma, burnt grain and lightly spiced highlights. The flavors are roasted barley malt, coffee, dark sweet fruits, plums, carmel, toffee, and hints of holiday spices. Very creamy texture, not clying or overly sweet. Very well balanced and luxurious. tastybeer (79), Washington DC, USA
