Commercial Description:
Unique Belgian beer, top fermented and with bottle conditioning. This Easterbeer is a balanced equilibrium between sweet and bitter, between body and freshness. It has a malty and fruity nose with a thick, round froth. It is brewed in the rich tradition of the St. Bernardus Brewery, using only the very best malts, hops, and sugars. Our own yeast and the specific water of the brewery give our beers depth and strength. This Easterbeer lives up to our credo: St. Bernardus, bringing heavenly nectar within reach.

Bottled, 75cl corked. Hazy, sparkling, dark ruby, with a massive, beige head leaving nice lacings The head diminishes rather quickly, but doesn’t disappear. Cellar, spices, hops, malt, sweetness, hints of alcohol and dried fruits in the aroma, but it is a bit weak. Nice flavor, but maybe a bit weak. Spices, candi-sugar, caramel, hops and some dried fruits in the flavor. Full-bodied, and with a finish with hops, spices and lasting, warming alcohol. A nice beer it is, but I expected a bit more complexity. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. (070408)

Bottle, 75cl corked. A hazy amber beer with a nice, dense beige head. Cellar and dried fruits in the sweetish and vinous nose. Complex flavor too, well blended and touch to disintegrate. Cellar, dried fruits, sweetness and some bitterness are present. Some alcohol too. Full-bodied, and with a lasting finish. Really pleasant. (080926)

Bottle. Orange/amber colour with mostly lasting off-white head. Fruity maltiness in the aroma. Spices, yeast and alcohol in the flavor. Lasting finish with nice little bitterness. Just a nod above the average belgian strong ale.
