Commercial Description:
Unique Belgian beer, top fermented and with bottle conditioning. This Easterbeer is a balanced equilibrium between sweet and bitter, between body and freshness. It has a malty and fruity nose with a thick, round froth. It is brewed in the rich tradition of the St. Bernardus Brewery, using only the very best malts, hops, and sugars. Our own yeast and the specific water of the brewery give our beers depth and strength. This Easterbeer lives up to our credo: St. Bernardus, bringing heavenly nectar within reach.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a big foamy head that is slightly off white. Splendid aroma - very fresh. Grass, roses, thyme, caramel and other herbs. Oily and round mouthfeel. Taste is slightly vinious, based on caramel. Elderberries, yeast, herbs, oak, toffee and dry flowery hops at the end. Stunning.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber/brown colour with off-white head. The beer has a heavy feel to it. Nose is both fruity/flowery but also caramel and hops. The flavor is much of the same. Very good indeed.

75 cl bottle. Amber color, offwhite head. Malty, grassy aroma, some vinous notes, fruity, apricot notes, bready and a bit yeasty. Hoppy flavor at first, fruity, some apple, some apricot, marcipan and apricot notes. I like this...

Hoppy aroma with hints of alcohol and apricots. Flavors is malty with a long dry finish and warming alcohol. Sparkly mouth feel and oily texture. This is a really well composed and balanced beer. Quite quaffable, if you turn the bottle, as to not look at the monkretard.

Bottle sampled on 6/23/07 shared by boboski: Pours a hazy dark copper mahogany with an airy well-lacing frothy off-white head. Aroma of sweet doughy bready malt with a touch of light fruity esters. Body starts fairly earthy and doughy caramely sweet with some biscuity malt. Smooth, nicely balanced and enjoyable Belgian strong ale.

Slightly hazy amber beer with a medium lasting off-white head. Fruity aroma with some citrus and even hops. Sweet and malty flavour, very rich with a big mouthfeel.

Bottle, 75 cl. Hazy ruby copper with medium fluffy head. Roasted malt, yeast, wood and spices mixes well. Medium bodied and soft CO2. Nicely balanced, the initial sweetness gives way for a long and dry finish.
