May 15, 2009 Another solid offering from St. Bernard, the monk pours a light orange color with a big, pillowy head. A nice cornucopia of aromas fills the nostrils with smells of raisins, yeast, and a noticeable malt texture. The tastes are as if the smell was the beer itself, just an overall well rounded brew. May 14, 2009 been sruprised for a while that I hadn’t rated this then I realized I couldn’t find it anywhere in SD. Picked this up yesterday while on a beer run with my brother at Chevy Chase. bottle gusher at roomish temp. Pours deep orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet and fruity and richly malty. Taste is sweet and fruity with a dubbel like quality. Tasty.

May 3, 2009 Bottle-Twas my Easter dinner beer. A cloudy, ruby color brew with a small head and not much lacing. The beer was plenty carbonated. The aroma was mostly sour fruit with some wheat aroma. The taste was fruity and hoppy with a touch of wheat. Old rating.

Apr 27, 2009 Quite nice. Not a st. bernardus 8 or abt. 12, mind you, but very good. Dark brown with a bubble gum aroma and a sharp yeastiness to it.

Apr 27, 2009 Dark copper, auburn brown ish color with a playfully large head. Aroma is highly wheats and breads. It’s enjoyable but does more to highlight how good the 12 is than stand on its own.

Apr 24, 2009 It has a nice dark color with a pretty nice nose to it, when poured into the right glass. The taste is not too bad, almost a suble feature of nuts. Overall not that bad.

Apr 24, 2009 Pours a murky brown color with a large creamy head. Nice lacing too. Aroma is nice - crisp and spicy with bread, yeast, and sugar. Taste is the same with a dull earthy finish. I’m generally not a fan of Belgian ales like this, but this one is quite good. Drinkable and enjoyable.
