Quite light for a "dark" beer, fruity, sweet and caramel flavours, some malt, no alcohol. Very enjoyable and full of flavour. wyzzywyz22 (222), Wirral, Merseyside, England Jun 30, 2008 Bottle, Stirchley Wines and Spirits, Birmingham. Poured a hazy brown colour with a dissipating white head.. Some fruit, yeast and spice in the aroma.
Flavour was sweetish and malty. Some dark fruit and spice in there somewhere. Carbonation was a bit on the heavy side. Nothing special on the whole and expected a lot more. Capa (663), Yokosuka, Japan Jun 16, 2008 Melted caramel in color with a medium, tan head. Fruity aroma backed by malts, spices, light molasses, and a touch of sourness. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Very flavorful. Spicy yeast, malts, caramel, and some fruit as well. While I wouldn’t call it earth shattering it’s a very solid belgian. pepsican (634), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA Jun 14, 2008 cola brown pour with a medium sized dirty white head. Aroma is up front pear and heavy malt. Flavor is caramel, pear, orange, kiwi, and a bit of spice. Finishes prickly carbonated, very easy to drink for the style. No hint of any booze, lightly refreshing which is weird for the flavors I am getting. ketchepillar (234), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Jun 13, 2008 Beautiful head. Simple, yet complex. Or rather, there are a variety nice flavors & aromas that blend perfectly together to make one solid profile, however when analyzed delicious moderately sweet bready caramel malt lays flat and soft on the tongue, while grapes among other fresh fruits coupled with an interesting, yet very gentle yeast character floats harmoniously above. Decently smooth on the carbonation, but a tad too thin and watery.
