trevor211 (81), Seattle, Washington, USA May 7, 2008 Pours a beautiful ruby bronze with a big, fluffy head. Spices, sweet fruits and alcohol on the nose. The flavor is sticky sweet - raisins, figs and other dark fruits, yeasty with light malts. It’s a little harsh on the palate - the carbonation is a little too extreme (even for a Belgian) and ends up making you concentrate on the feel and not the flavor. Still very good, though.
darkguardian (166), Florida, USA Aug 18, 2008 12oz bottle. Earthy, malty nose with sweet fruits. Pours a murky bubbly brown with a big rich head. Taste is very malty with some fruit sweetness on the backend. Very well balanced. Long lingering notes of chocolate of caramel, not as strong as in the prior 8 but similar. Very very good.
