Pours brown with ruby tinges and a medium-sized ivory head. Aroma is of dried fruit, slight tartness, and caramel malt. Initial flavor features a rather sharp bright-fruit orange, strawberry, nectarine flavor which mellows considerably as the beer sits in your mouth. There is some delicious caramel-chocolate sweetness that blends nicely, leading to a rather complex drink by the finish. I am probably not doing justice to this beer. I’ll leave it that Prior 8 is a very good Belgian, with a dynamic flavor that will suit those who crave boldness in a beer. darkseduction (206), Zweibrücken, Germany

Wonderful fruity nose, slight toffee impressions. An exellent complex brew with a long satisfying aftertaste. Great! Benjiehorn (15), Chicago, Illinois, USA

The first thing that hit me in the aroma and the mouthfeel was the raisin dominance. Very good. A lot of carbonation procedes with a good amount of dark maltiness, and a nice touch of alcohol on the finish. tarheels86 (799), Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Gusher--- bad sign. Pours a clear brown with a nice tan head that disappears quickly to almost nothing. Aromas of black cherries, brown sugar, alcohol, yeast, rum raisins, and caramel malt. Higher than average carbonation. Taste is quite a wonderful experience. Begins with lots of bubbles and then steps aside for the caramel malt, brown sugar, and rum raisins. Slight warming alcohol in the end with a pleasantly sweet aftertaste. Slightly creamy on the palate. Excellent but not very exciting. Much more flavor and character than the Pater 6 though. Fruity apple and cherry aroma with tons of roasted malt. Fruity flavor - tree fruits apple, etc, as well as cherry. Strong roast bitter malt backbone. Slightly sweet and sour at the same time. Bitter hops and alcohol finish. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA
