Dark brown and cloudy with that big tan head. Gazillions of bubbles can barely be seen. The aroma is big and full of delicious fruit, yeast, and earth. Delightful. Flavor is toffee, passion fruit, citrus fruit, candi sugar, zingy spice, and alcohol. Complex but straightforward. An excellent beer! BeerBunker (617), Burbank, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours murky brown with a tan head that never fully dissipates. Very heavy on the carbonation. Aroma is of malt, spice, candi sugars, mild fruit, and brown sugar. Also a mild presence of alcohol can be detected. Taste is very malty and yeasty with an underlying breadiness. Nice notes of bananas, spice, and citrus. Has a nice lingering hop sweetness. Mouthfeel is very creamy and sticky. The alchol warms long after after each sip ends. An overly drinkable Belgian, wouthout being overly unique. sebletitje (1995), Tampa, Florida, USA

Aroma of nice dark fruits and yeast.
Taste is more pronounced than the Pater 6 version. We again see the use of dark fruits in a more prominent way, and candi sugar. This time around, the 8% abv is more noticeable. Leaves a nice warming feel on the palate. wheelz843 (211), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Aroma’s of dark fruits and dark malts, not overly roasted but that coffee and chocolate hint which I find so typical for a St.Bernardus. Medium bodied. Very drinkable. michael-pollack (2731), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Crush with Jakebra. Very fruity nose, very pleasing. Again, like other St. Bernardi brews, incredibly good mouthfeel, with the carbonation tickling the tongue wonderfully. Flavor yields more treasures. Alcohol completely hidden. Excellent beer. durhambeer (1227), Durham, USA

Sweet malty nose; Belgian sugar, caramel, apple. Similar taste with tastes of apple juice and german chocolate cake as well as dried fruits and toffee. Very good, but didn’t quite live up to expectations.
